Untitled by Brett Walker.

Another lovely image from Brett.  I don’t know where this is – a complete guess would be San Francisco.

Worth a look at a larger version here.

Almost Lost Detroit

detroit waltz, originally uploaded by g. s. george.

Would be nice to see this bigger. It’s a shot of modern day Lee Plaza Apartments in Detroit, Michigan. A family friend spent some time in Detroit recently and he said it was a bit like being in a town after it had been bombed. This grand piano has certainly seen better days.

Apologies for not posting much of late. My mother died recently and I haven’t been able to summon the energy. Somehow it seems less important than it did before. I’ll try and get back to it soon.

Night in Ipanema

Night in Ipanema, originally uploaded by mistca.

This is what I saw from the top of my Hotel, Sol Ipanema, every night… when it was not raining. A very romantic view. On the rooftop they had a very small bar. So at night I would sit there looking at the majestic sunsets, sip caipirinha maracuja (not caipivodka!) and listen to soft sounds of Bosa Nova… That is a perfect way to end another great beach day in Rio!
