Another nice shot by Simon. He follows a simple rule for much of his landscape work – divide the composition into foreground, middle-ground and background. Landscape shots can be a bit two-dimensional if you don’t have some compositional contrast to lead your eye into the picture. Once again, wide angle lenses are very useful for achieving this effect.

Here is another previously posted example of this principle being applied – this time to the Golden Gate Bridge.
