About Picture Post
This blog has been created to share my love of photography as both a medium and an art form. I will endeavour to highlight some of the best images and image makers on the Web, and to occasionally accompany the posts with my own thoughts about life, the universe and anything else that seems relevant to the subject matter.
The idea came to me because photo-sharing sites such as Flickr are quantitive as opposed to qualitative. Images of blurry sunsets and family pets abound. The diamonds in the rough can be tricky to find. So, I thought I’d make it easier for people who want a daily image fix – but don’t want to try too hard.
If it’s your first visit, I recommend using the categories over on the right hand side if you want to get a feel for the previously posted material – there’s a lot of really good stuff!
Oh, and if you like what you see, please take a moment to add Picture Post to any of these social bookmarking sites:
[Note: I have been told that this site works very well on an iPhone or iPod Touch, just in case you own one and like to browse images on the move.]

Seeing this site I admit that the world is really full of great artists photographers and we just know only those few luckiest ones,
a minimum number.

HI!!
I love your website…so do you scour flickr for the photos you post and then ask permission or just post without permission? I was just curious.
THanks!

I just post without permission Molly! Most people who don’t want to be blogged lock down their photos. I always provide a link through to the point of origin – standard blogging practice.

Hi, this blog-site seems to be rather your calm baby,eh?
Is a good one.
Flickr is something strange, especially when it comes to few rights reg use. How do you protect your images there?

Hello Theodor – sorry for taking a while to respond to you. You can put some locks on flickr to stop people saving or blogging your work but most people leave it open. The internet suggests a new way of doing things for all kinds of media, including photography!

I loved your image of the diving kids and used it on my site and are directing people to you (got it off google). Please let me know if you have any issues or concerns.
Thanks,
Mike

Hi there,
I love your blog and especially love each photo posted. I am glad I stumbled on this blog of yours today and will definitely post a link to your blog from mine.
By the way I am an amateur photographer and shoot mostly for the fun of it.
Keep up your good work.
